Which natural beverage is just as yummy as any flavoured drink, cholesterol free, 99 per cent fat-free and low in carbohydrates and naturally occurring sugars?
All hail the new King of the health scene – Coconut Water.
Boasting zinc, selenium, iodine, sulphur, manganese, boron, molybdenum, ascorbic acid and B-group vitamins, fresh coconut water is delicious, refreshing and healthy (plus, for the adults, leave it in the coconut, add a dash of Malibu, a bendy straw and an umbrella and, hey presto – a tropical holiday in your own kitchen!)
Coconut Yogurt is another alternative, here’s what you do:
Buy a couple of young coconuts and probiotic powder from your local health food shop.
Scrape out the coconut pulp and add this, coconut water and the yogurt starter to a blender until the consistency is creamy.
Place in a jar, put the lid on tight and store in the cupboard for 2-3 days. Stir, refrigerate…Enjoy!
